So since I didn't get to the mall on Friday, I decided that I was going to go to the mall on Saturday. I was going to wake up at 11 and putter around a bit until I actually got out of my apartment. (I don't understand why there's only one "p" in apartment in English. It gets me every time now.)
When I am in my bed getting ready to go to sleep, I set my alarm, turn on my do-not-disturb and read for awhile. Then directly before I turn off the light, I double-check that I haven't gotten any exciting messages.
On Saturday at like 1 am before I went to sleep I discovered that Ana had messaged me and she wanted to go to the mall at 10:30. This worked very well for me to still go to the mall, but didn't work with my getting up at 11 plan. So I reset my alarm.
I met Ana at the tram stop and we went to Achan. I bought some food, and a new folder thing, but I forgot a toothbrush so that will just have to wait until Monday.
Around noon-ish I got back to my apartment and colored, a lot. I now have so many colored animal pictures hanging up all over my room and it's so great.
I lounged about organizing things and pulling out important documents for other things and watching tv and coloring and working a little on evaluations when I got a confirmation from Ana that she was going to go to the anthropology party.
Now, if you remember that one time I went to an anthropology party and everyone was smoking and I coughed so much I almost died, that's what I was worried about. Plus the fact that the guy I dislike from Biological always hosts the parties.
I'm explaining this so you understand why I didn't go to the Anthropology party last week, when now I realize I clearly should have.
Ana and I met at the tram stop again at like 9:30pm, and took the trams up across the river toward the guys' (cuz he has like 12 roommates I think) house. We met another girl, Jeanne, on the tram heading there as well. She is half French and half Spanish and did an Erasmus in Germany last year. She's very nice.
The party was super awesome because these people have a backyard and that's like the coolest thing. For some awkward reason in Bordeaux it's so unreasonable cold in the morning, and then really really nice out at night. I had worn my warmer coat expecting to be cold, but then I was outside in just my Wartburg sweatshirt for most of the party because that's how nice out it is.
The very best thing about the party was the amount of pizza they had. They had probably 10 frozen pizzas that people just kept putting in the oven. So there was always one warm pizza out and it was amazing. Take note everyone, that is how to host a party.
I even talked to the guy hosting the party (yes, that guy I don't like), and he was very nice and so now I'm not allowed to not like him anymore, just like those darn Romanians.
I walked home around 2 because that seemed to me like a reasonable time to leave. It was still really nice out, and I don't understand how that's possible. It takes me about 45 minutes to walk home from across the river, so I obviously got hungry on the way home.
That bakery that makes the best Operas also has the best paninis, and they're always open in the middle of the night and right on the way home. So I bought one. And my warmer coat has an inside pocket, so it was very easy to protect my panini from the elements by storing it in my coat pocket until I got to my apartment.
You're the real MVP, inside coat pocket.
Once I got home (this is technically Sunday's entry now) I ate part of my panini, watched an episode of Bones, and went to sleep. I forgot to set my alarm, so I didn't wake up until 2pm which means I was unable to go to the market and buy any fruit.
All of the grocery stores are closed except Carrefour down Cours de la Somme, which is only open 4-8 pm. So I'm heading there right after I finish typing this sentence to buy some bananas so I can eat them as part of dinner.
When you sleep all day long it's hard to get your calories in for the day, so I have like 1500 left still and that's really awkward. Okay, I guess after this sentence.
